Drum-shaped fresh water container (mizusashi) with gritty, iron red surface. Glazed on the inside only. The mizusashi was first formed by coiling and then thrown on the potter's wheel. The rim curves toward the inside of the vessel where the maroon glazed ceramic lid is recessed. The front of the vessel (shomen) is easily identifiable by black iron oxide. The mizusashi is signed on the bottom. This mizusashi is my own and not for sale.
